The easiest way to pay the toll for using the motorway is through lvvignette.eu, at the Road Traffic Safety Directorate (RTSD) cash desk and at petrol stations. When buying a vignette at the cash register or gas station, a handling fee is charged, the amount of which may vary from seller to seller. Handling fee for RTSD cash desk is set at € 1.20. How are vehicle price categories determined?
The obligation to pay a fee for motorways applies to vehicles for transporting goods with a total weight of 3001 kg or more. The lowest price category is intended for vehicles for transporting goods with a total weight from 3001 kg to 3500 kg. Other categories are intended for vehicles from 3.5 t to 12 t and for vehicles above 12 t. The price categories for vehicles above 3,5 t shall be subdivised by emission class: Euro IV and more, Euro III and Euro 0, I, II, for vehicles above 12 t, the number of axles may also affect the price.
In which cases is it possible to obtain exemption from the payment of road charges?
The vignette is not mandatory for the passage of toll road junctions, on roads in cities, for vehicles belonging to certain ministries, for vehicles of the Defence and Armed Forces, police and, in summer, also for drivers of vehicles covered by the Rural Support Programme.
