Vignettes in Hungary are mandatory for motorcycles and vehicles up to 3.5 t on most motorways and are on sale with a validity period of 1 day, 10 days, month and year. For drivers who regularly use only a certain part of the motorways are annual vignettes valid by county available. Vignettes are sold in electronic form only and can be bought via the Internet on ematrica.nemzetiutdij.hu, through the mobile apps of contract dealers and at common points of sale such as petrol stations and shops near border crossings. For vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of more than 3,5 t is designated an on-board unit with the Hu-Go toll system. Motorway charges for buses are paid via an electronic vignette.

For vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 t are tolled motorways, expressways and main roads of lower classes. Toll payment for vehicles over 3.5 t is made by an toll unit and the Hu-Go toll system. Rate for calculating the toll price shall be derived from the emission class and the number of axles of the vehicle. For buses is intended an ordinary e-vignette.

Monthly vignette is valid until the same calendar day as the beginning of validity in the following month, unless such a date exists until the last day of the month. Annual vignette is valid from the first day of the year to the 31st January of the following year, i.e. 13 months. Which vignette for a car with a trailer?
For a trailer is a vignette compulsory only if it is towed by a vehicle up to 3,5 t intended for the transport of costs, by a vehicle up to 3,5 t intended for more than 7 persons and for buses. For driving on the motorways with a set of passenger car with a trailer is enough one motorway vignette designed for a passenger car.
Is it possible to transfer the e-vignette to another vehicle?
Request the exchange of an electronic vignette is possible when transferring the vehicle to another person, changing the registration number, stealing or wrecked vehicle and incorrectly entered data during the order.
